A LED lighting system (100) is provided, which is a primary device (101),has a secondary (102) and a supply line (103) through which the secondary (102) arrangement of the primary (101) arrangement is electrically supplied, the secondary (102) arrangement having one or more semiconductor components and the primary (101) arrangement having one or more devices (109) for the provision of electrical energy. It is provided that one or more semiconductor components are LED luminaires only (104) and that the primary arrangement (101) also includes a control device (112) equipped for this purpose,control an current current flow through the intake line (103) depending on a maximum permissible intake temperature (103).
