Tooling assembly for lathe machines, CNC threading lathes, and how to mill threads on tubular workpieces

A tooling assembly for a lathe machine includes a tool platform configured to be mounted on a lathe machine, a milling tool holder securely fixed to the tool platform and operable to releasably secure a threaded milling tool therein, and a milling tool drive. The milling tool drive is operably connected to the milling tool holder and can be operated to mill the thread on the workpiece by rotating the milling tool holder independently of the work holder when the pipe thread milling tool is fixed to the milling tool holder. Computer numerically controlled threading lathes and methods of milling threads on tubular workpieces are also described.
