An anatomical model for surgical training is provided. The model includes a first layer that simulates the liver and a second layer that includes the simulated gallbladder. A third layer having an inner surface and an outer surface is provided between the first and second layers. The outer surface of the third layer is attached to the first layer at a location around the simulated gallbladder and the simulated gallbladder is attached to the inner surface of the third layer. A fourth layer is provided that is overlaid on both the second layer and the simulated gallbladder. The frame is embedded within the first tier and is connectable to the support. The model provides a substantially vertically erected projection of the liver and pseudo gallbladder in a properly retracted orientation to practice laparoscopic cholecystectomy when inserted into the interior of the simulated infused cavity of the laparoscopic trainer.
