SOLUTION: A display element 80 for emitting image light, a main circuit board MD or the like which is a circuit board for processing a video signal, a board holder 75 which is a circuit board holder for fixing the main circuit board MD or the like, and a main circuit. A harness 109 connected to the substrate MD is provided, and the substrate holder 75 fixes the end TB of the main circuit board MD in a state of protruding toward the upstream side of the optical path from the display element 80. As a result, a space for avoiding interference is provided on the upstream side of the optical path of the display element 80, that is, on the back side of the display element, while suppressing the increase in size to the side of the device.
