24,146. Wood, W. Nov. 4. Displaying.-Relates to a device for displaying or exhibiting living pictures and the like, scenery, works of art, &c. A table a, carried by a shaft 8 which revolves in a bearing 9 and supported by posts 10, 11, on which the antifriction wheels 12, 13 run, is provided with columns b for supporting a roof i and a dome c. The discs d, t are mounted on pivots in the base and roof respectively, and with the semi-cylindrical shields n form recesses into which the figures &c. are placed on a pedestal e. The objects can thus be exposed or concealed as desired, and suitable portable or sliding screens l conceal portions of the apparatus from view. By means of the lever 19, the friction-wheel 15 of the electric motor may be put in contact with either of the wheels 16 or 17, and the shaft 8 thus turned in either direction. The columns b and the roof i may be dispensed with, screens or walls being mounted on the turntable to form the recesses. In this case, shown in Fig. 1, shields, screens, or walls 20 are so mounted as to divide the turntable 7 into a number of sector-shaped compartments, in which the scenes &c. are represented. The Provisional Specification states that the device may be used for exhibiting goods for advertising purposes.
