摘要
19,830. Richardson, H. Oct. 2. Coins and the like, separating and testing.-Relates to a machine for automatically separating parcels, coins, &c. into three classes, namely those that are of the weight required and those that are over and under that weight. The articles pass to the left along the conveyer c' until they press against a finger i and a stop f. The arm i2 is thus placed in the path of an arm attached to the hinged, pusher g. This, pusher is reciprocated by the rod g1, lever g2, and cam-groove h1. The arm i2 lowers the pusher g so as to engage the article and push it on to the scale e6. The beam e turns on its bearing e1 and the' terminal knife e9 and antifriction roller e8 take up one of the three vertical positions. The beam is: kept in this position by a cam p having channels p', p2, p3, along any one of which the roller e8 passes. If the article is too light, it is pushed by the pusher k4 on to the shoot m. If it is of correct weight, the pusher k4 passes freely over it, but the hinged pawl k6 beneath the pusher engages with the article on its back stroke and draws it on to the shoot n. If the article is too heavy, the pusher k4 and its pawl pass freely over it, and it is pushed from the scale e6 on to the shoot o by the pusher g acting against the next article on the conveyer c1. The pusher k4 is worked by the cam-groove h2 and lever k1. When the article is considerably over weight, a loose weight r is raised from a fixed bracket r3 by a rod r1 carried by the beam.
