11,286. Laurick, C. May 14. Moving - beater apparatus. - In a kneading and mixing machine for dough-like and other substances, mixing-arms c are actuated by a rocking- lever a, to which they are pivoted at b, and connecting-rods g driven by cranks h. The lever a is driven by a crank f, revolving twice as fast as the cranks h, in a similar manner to that described in Specification No. 7126, A.D. 1905. The lever a may be a single - armed lever and the arms c double as shown, or conversely. The kneading trough t is supported on a carriage w, attached to the frame of the mixer by the coupling shown in Fig. 4. On a shaft i attached to the carriage ware mounted sleeves engaging with recesses p in bolts q attached to the frame n of the machine and passing through holes in the bar s of the trough carriage. The sleeve j is held in position by a ratchet v and pawl x, and is released from the bolt q by turning it so that a flattened portion comes under the bolt. The ends of the bolt q engage with projections z on the trough t, to prevent the latter being raised when in position. The shaft i is also connected with a winding-drum, by means of which the trough t can be raised by a cord passing over a pulley 5 on an arm 4, which can be lowered into the position shown to allow the carriage w to be coupled to the frame. A small form of the apparatus for domestic and like uses is also described. In this case, the trough t is carried on brackets 10, Fig. 6, by means of which with clamps 12 the apparatus may be attached to a table. The trough t may be attached to the brackets by projections 15, 16 fitting into guides 14, into which they may be slid or which may be slid, on a frame to engage with the projections.
