[Patent of Addition to No. 4379, A.D. 1905.] Dynamos and motors combined as transformers.-In a motor-generator set of the type described in Specification No. 4379, A.D. 1905, [Abridgment Class Electric lamps &c.], for supplying arc lamps for search - lights and for other apparatus, instead of connecting the regulating field windings in series with the armatures of the corresponding machines, the regnlating- winding 13 of the motor is connected in series with the armature 5 of the generator, while the second field winding 14 of the generator is connected in parallel with its armature and assists the field due to the winding 7. The other motor and generator field windings 6, 7 are connected across the mains 1, 2, or, alternatively, the motor winding 6 may be connected in parallel with its armature.
