Building-motions.-The effective length of the building-motion chain of ring spinning-machines is shortened, so that more yarn is laid at the base of the cop, by forming it in two parts, one of which is connected to links 3 and the other to a pin 1, which is pivoted in the links and engages a pin 4 thereon. As the lifter chain moves, the pin 1 engages an adjustable stop and moves relatively to the links, so that the lifting- action of the chain is temporarily reduced.
