Haymaking.-Portable appliances for supporting heaps of mown grass so that air has access to them on all sides comprises nets fixed to frames or stands. The frame shown in Fig. 1 is collapsible and consists of two pairs of pointed bars 2, 3 pivoted on a cross-rod 4 and connected together at the top by ropes 5. In a modification, the net is hopper or funnel shaped and is fastened to a ring to which are pivotally connected three supporting- rods, which are adapted to cross one another. In another modification, the net is stretched on a ring supported by a number of stakes, which are provided with holes to receive cords &c. for securing the grass on the net. The stakes may be forked to receive the ring carrying the net. Fig. 4 shows a net stretched on a ring 8 supported by stakes 13 provided with hooks 14 from which securing-cords pass to hooks 16 on a tall central stake 15. The stakes 13 may be extended to support a second ring.
