摘要
12,566. Mead, M. H. May 21, 1913, [Convention date]. Displaying and storing. - An entomological mount comprises means for supporting a specimen rotatably about a longitudinal axis. The specimen may be impaled longitudinally upon a pin 1, Figs. 7 and 10, or it may rest along a pin 1, Fig. 17, or pin 100, Fig. 15, with its thorax pierced by the bent end of the pin. The pin engages a connecting-member, such as a cork cube 3, which is pierced by a pin, adapted to engage a mounting-card and the label of the specimen. A number of specimens, so attached to cork cubes &c., may have their cubes &c. held by a common pin carrying another cork cube or the equivalent for attachment to the pin which engages the mounting card and label; or the cubes may be mounted directly along the last-mentioned pin. The pin or pins, other than the pin which engages the mounting-card, are rotatable, and may be provided with small cranks. In order to adjust the blocks 3 upon the pins 2, they may be clamped between extensions 84, 85, Fig. 17, of jaws 83, 82, and then the pin 2 may be moved to the desired position in the block.
