Hand-wheels for motor-vehicles and for other purposes are constructed by casting or moulding a rim or felloe of concrete, plaster, or the like, with or without reinforcement, upon the ends of the spokes, and encasing the rim or rim spokes and boss with celluloid or similar material. The moulded material may be supported by segmental reinforcing - pieces e secured to the ends of the spokes as shown. The rim may be further reinforced by a tubular ring of paper or by a ring of plain or barbed wire, wire netting, or expanded metal. The supporting or reinforcing members may be grooved, notched, or otherwise made irregular.
