Priming, preventing.-Relates to means for separating water from the steam in the top drum of a Belleville boiler. The pipes B from the elements extend above the axis of the drum A, and are closed at the top by a plug b formed with a curved face which directs the water horizontally through four apertures C of a total area greater than that of the pipe B. The mixed steam and water impinges on inclined plates D which direct the water on to the perforated plates E, whence it falls to the bottom of the drum. The top edge of the plates D is bent over to deflect the steam before it passes round a baffle G to the internal steam-pipe H.
