Sacks and like bags, weaving; tubular fabrics; pleating, weaving to facilitate. - In weaving sacks, bags, and fabrics therefor provided with integrally-woven closure threads or strings as described in Specification 1306/14, these threads &c., which are floated on the surface while the plain portion of fabric between two bag portions is being woven, are formed into loops by a hook-shaped bar which is actuated by a dobby lever or otherwise at intervals, the threads being simultaneously slackened by a slackening-bar. A loop-forming bar may be provided at each selvedge, and, when several sacks are woven side by side, a bar provided with the required number of hook-members is used.
