Tivoli billiards and the like. - Balls are shot by means of a projector M up a curved incline N, at the top of which is arranged a figure F with open mouth 0; balls which enter the mouth of the figure effect the delivery of one or more coins and close the circuit of a signal bell 1 and of a lamp 5 disposed 'behind an aperture 6 near the mouth of a cannon C, the balls then passing to a stop D in a shot I; balls which fail to enter the mouth of the figure also pass to the stop D. The coin inserted in a shoot A depresses a lever B carrying the stop D, permitting the balls to pass through an aperture J to a gate L; this gate is operated by an external handle L1 to permit the balls to pass singly to the projector M. A ball entering the mouth O of the figure passes down a shoot P and rocks a detent R pivoted to a lever T from engagement with a fixed rack S, whereupon the lever T moves to the left under the action of a spring Y2 and operates a slide X to deliver one or more coins from a storage chamber X1 to an external tray Y; the detent R tilted by the ball into the position shown in dotted lines closes the circuits of the bell 1 and lamp 5. The spring V2 connects the overlapping ends of rods V, V1 connected respectively to the lever T and a bell-crank W; to restore the lever T and slide X and break the lamp and bell circuits, the player rotates a disk W4 which is attached to a ratchet W2 connected to the bell-crank W.
