Stationary batch-mixers with rotary stirrers.- An hydraulic turbine for driving mixing-apparatus is mounted on a vertical spindle and enclosed in the cover of the vessel containing the material to be treated. The turbine a is driven by an horizontal jet of water. The bottom d of the casing is inclined towards the outlet pipe l which carries a pivoted receiver m which serves to deaden the noise and discharges the water against the sides of the vessel g to cool the contents. A funnel and pipe k serve for admission of material to the vessel g without removal of the cover c which encloses the turbine.
