Golf-practising appliances.-Relates to appliances for pratcising games or for physical exercises and comprises a club, bat, or the like having embodied and retainable therein means for indicating the power or skill of the movement imparted to the device. The invention is shown applied to a golf club. A guide d, Figs. 2 and 3, is embodied in the head of the club and arranged parallel to the striking face. During the swing of the club a weight e slides along the guide to a position in which the centrifugal force is balanced by a tension spring f, and is retained in this position by a ratchet gear. A pointer m on the weight indicates the power of the stroke on a scale n on the upper surface of the club-head. The weight is returned to its starting position bv pressing a button k connected to the pawl of the ratchet gear. In a modification, Fig. 9, an extension p of the head b of a golf club is slidable longitudinally in the hollow shaft a and controlled by a spring q. The power of the stroke is indicated on a scale r.
