Fats and fatty oils and waxes, extracting by solvents.-In extracting oil, waxes, and the like from seeds, nuts &c. by means of a solvent, the finely ground oil-bearing material is continuously fed, by a feeding-device A fitted with an internal screw, to a mixing-cylinder B, together with a minimum quantity of benzine or other solvent which is pumped in through a pipe a3. The mixture passes under pressure into a separator C, preferably consisting of a cylindrical filter with an internal screw. The meal is steamed to drive off residual solvent, and then dried.
