250,328. Bonstow, T. L. Jan. 9, 1925. Bricks, special shapes of.-A building brick or block a, Fig. 1, is formed at each end with plain, wide, shallow rabbets b on the top and sides, the bottom being preferably left plain, so that when they are laid side by side in courses, Fig. 5, wide shallow open joints will be presented around the ends of the bricks adapted to be filled with liquid mortar or grout. A brick of the usual dimensions may have rabbets two inches wide, those at the top being three-eighths of an inch deep and those at the side being three-sixteenths. In building a wall, the bricks are laid in a casing or mould formed of panels bolted together and liquid mortar or grout is pumped into the casing through a hose pipe from a tank. A space is left between the walls of the casing and the adjacent surfaces of the bricks, which space is filled with the mortar.
