Tension apparatus.-An appliance for supporting a splint and applying tension to a limb consists of a number of telescopic frames 1, 3, 7, 10, the frame 1 having clamps 2 for attachment to the foot of a bedstead. The frame 3 carries a stirrup-like member 5 having clips 6 to support the outer end of a splint, and the frame 7 carries an adjustable pulley 8 over which passes a cord attached to the limb at one end and carrying a weight at the other. Instead of supporting the splint by the clips 6 it may be secured by a cord to the frame 10. In the treatment of a fractured hip the appliance may be clamped to a frame hinged at one of the posts at the foot of the bed so that traction may be applied in an angular direction.
