300,218. Fletcher, A. S. April 27, 1925. Bomb - dropping.- Several bomb - releasing levers 8 are selectively operated by a single control lever 15. The releasing levers 8 shown are bell cranks mounted side by side on a spindle 10; and the control lever 15 has two legs 13 pivoted about the same spindle 10 over bushings 11, and a bridge-piece 14 extending over the upper arms of the bell cranks 8, Slides 17 are fitted in the bridgepiece 14, one above each bell crank, and these slides are provided with operating knobs 19 and ball catches 21 for retaining the slides in the extreme positions. Normally, the control lever 15 is held against a stop 23 by a spring 24, and the upper arms of the bell cranks 8 are held against a stop 6 by springs or by the tension of Bowden wires connecting the bombreleasing gears to shackles 22 on the horizontal arms of the bell cranks 8. The slides corresponding to the bell cranks it is desired to operate are first, depressed, then the control lever is pulled from the stop 23 to the stop 25.
