357,310. Spray carburetters. SOC. ANON. SOLEX, 190, Avenue de Neuilly, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. July 10, 1930, No. 20901. Convention date, Aug. 9, 1929. [Class 7 (iii).] An auxiliary carburetter, comprising a nozzle 11 discharging into a passage 13 connected to the induction pipe above the main throttle valve 6, is fed with fuel from the main float chamber 1 through a submerged orifice 8. The auxiliary carburetter is used at starting and it may be automatically put out of action by means of a thermostatically controlled cock 14 when the engine has warmed up. The auxiliary carburetter is designed to supply a rich mixture when running at low speed, as when the engine is cold, the mixture being proportionately weakened as the engine speed increases due to the aspiration of an increased quantity of air at 12 whilst the quantity of fuel supplied in unit time is maintained constant by the submerged orifice 8.
