[Class 120 (i).] Sisal leaves are automatically fed to decorticating and like preparing machines by apparatus comprising two sets of spaced rails 3, 4, Figs. 1 and 2, disposed longitudinally of the direction of feed, the rails 3 being stationary and the rails 4 being given a combined rotary and oscillatory movement with respect thereto and having carriers 14 on their upper surfaces for engaging the leaves and feeding them intermittently along the track 3. The rails 3 are adjustable about the pivot 5 by means of a rod 6 slidable in slots 7. The rails 4 are oscillated about the rod 10 by eccentrics 15, adjacent rails being given opposing rotary movements. The leaves are fed forward from a downwardly sloping table 2 and flat guide springs 19 are adjustably mounted at the delivery end of the track 3.
