446,044. Distributing music. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. June 4, 1935, No. 16170. Convention date, March 8. [Class 40 (iv)] In a system in which low-frequency programme matter is distributed over telephone lines, the insertion of the power supply plug of the programme amplifier V energizes a relay Re3 which cuts off the telephone set and connects the amplifier to the line 1, 2 and means are provided for disconnecting the amplifier when a telephone call is originated or received and automatically connecting it up again on the termination of the call. On the arrival of a call, ringing current, rectified at G, energizes Re2 which locks up and cuts off Re3. When the receiver is removed, whether to answer or to originate a call, Re1 pulls up over the loop and disconnects Re3, Re2. On the termination of the call, the relapse of Re1 allows Re3 to connect up the amplifier again. The system may be used for enabling the subscriber to disconnect the programme apparatus, if lie has gone out and left it connected up by mistake, by ringing his own line.
