[Class 83 (iv)] A row of tubes a are reduced in successively smaller passes between rolls b, c and plugs d. the rolled tubes being received m the notches of one-piece guides k, which are rotatable around a shaft y at right-angles to the tubes to bring, into position other guides i, l or m. of different spaced notches to accommodate a change in the number of pass grooves or size 'of tubes being reduced. The tubes are held in the guides, e.g. by a common top roller q or a bar or by a similar arrangement of U-shaped guides above the lower set to form a closed guide or circular holes. The top roller may be adjusted vertically or obliquely, and the rollers are staggered in relation to the shafts of successive rotatable guides. A pinion n rotates the guide carrying hub. The various rows of guides may not be in one piece but detachably connected to the hub so that a worn set only need he replaced.
