[Class 1 (i)] The activity of radioactive creams, ointments, &c. is maintained constant by immersing in the product a device containing a substance producing emanation at a rate sufficient to compensate for its disappearance from the product. Fig. 1 shows a container suitable for carrying out the invention, having an inner wall 4 with a central boss 6 bounding a space 5 containing the emanation-producing substance. In Fig. 2, the substance is contained in a perforated sphere 10 with projecting bosses 12. In a third modification the container is lined with a paper band impregnated with the substance.
