[Class 108 (ii)] The body of a motor omnibus, coach or like vehicle is carried by a number of transverse bearers a vertically spaced from the longitudinal chassis members c and supported thereon by leaf springs d, each secured at one end to a bearer and in engagement at the other end with one of the chassis members. As shown, the springs d have cranked inner ends adapted to hook over the inwardly-directed upper flanges of the chassis members c while their outer ends are bolted to the bearers a to which are secured the vertical pillars b carrying the superstructure and panelling. A layer of friction material, hardened steel, &c. may be fitted between the inner end of each spring and its supporting chassis member.
