[Class 38 (ii)] In a transformer for connecting symmetrical and unsymmetrical systems as claimed in the parent Specification, two primary cylindrical windings each have at least four sections connected in series so that successive sections are arranged in the windings alternately next to and away from the secondary winding, the sections adjacent the electrical centre being at the two ends of the winding nearest the secondary winding. The two cylindrical windings may each have six sections d1' ... d1""" and d2' ... d2""" as shown in Fig. 1. Condensers may be connected in parallel with all or some of the sections.
