616,216. Turning. McCONNELL, W. E., and HARRISON & SONS, Ltd., T. S. Aug. 30, 1946, No. 26093. [Class 83 (iii)] A turret comprises a member 13 which is manually rotated to clamp and unclamp the turret for indexing and carries a pawl or the like 35 to actuate lever means 28 adapted to disengage the indexing device 18 when the member is rotated in the unclamping direction and to be inoperative when the member is counter-rotated, said lever means being adapted to transmit the rotational displacement to the turret. In a four-position turret 1, each index pin 18 is depressed in turn by an ejecting pin 22 actuated by the abutment against the edge 32 of a lever 28 of the pawl 35 during indexing. On reclamping, the pawl rides up the face 37 of the preceding lever, and is repositioned behind it by a spring 33. The levers 28 may be either curved and housed in a circular recess 21 or straight and arranged in a square recess.
