[Class 60] In a trueing device, especially for a screwthread grinding-wheel, a carriage 27 movable in a direction parallel to the axis of the wheel supports two diamond-holder slides 10, 11 movable in a direction perpendicular to the axis and operatively connected by a common control member 14 which reciprocates the slides in opposite directions to one another while a wedge 16 secured to one of the slides bears against a fixed roller 17SP1/SP to displace the carriage. The member 14 is in the form of a pinion provided with a hand lever 58 and meshes with two racks 12, 13 secured to the slides. The carriage 27 is spring-loaded to maintain contact between the wedge and roller, and slides on a guideway 29 which is secured to a cylindrically-shaped base to permit the device to be tilted about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the axis of the grinding-wheel. The support for the roller 17SP1/SP passes through a slot in the carriage 27 and is secured to the guideway 29. A sealed casing 19 surrounds the device and is provided with stops 60, 60SP1/SP to limit the movement of the slides 10, 11. For truncated threads, the periphery of the wheel is treated with a diamond 62 which is swung about a shaft 65 by a handle 64, the diamond being set at the desired distance from the wheel by a screw 67. The wedge is replaceable.
