Class 108(iii) [Also in Group X] A sealing or buffer strip adapted to be inserted into a channel or slot, which may be formed by adjacent edges of a a pair of door or drawer panels 4, 5, comprises a rubber or the like tube 1, which may be open at one or both ends and which is inserted in the channel, by exhausting air from the tube, to collapse it into a flat form having a thickness less than that of the mouth of the slot, placing the flattened tube in the slot and then readmitting air to the tube to cause it to resiliently engage the walls of the slot. The tube may be formed with a head or bead 2 which covers the mouth of the slot and it may also be formed on the inner wall opposite the head, with a longitudinally extending groove. The shape of the head 2 may be other than that shown and the tube may comprise an endless tube fitted with a hollow needle for connection to a vacuum pump. The tube may be other than of cylindrical crosssection.
