Dec. 6, 1949 [Dec. 6, 1948], No. 31252/49, Class 80 (iv) [Also in Group XXXI] In a device for coupling and locking together a framework carrying a source of mechanical power and a framework carrying an implement to be belt driven, the coupling means comprises at least one pair of longitudinal members on each framework, corresponding members on each framework being adapted to fit together in alignment. An intermediate framework comprising a reduction gear may be provided, and is arranged to be coupled to the implement framework and to the motor framework. The coupling means preferably comprises tubes on one framework and projecting pins adapted to fit into the tubes on the other framework. As shown, an internal combustion engine 1 is mounted on a trolley 3, and drives a reduction gear 2. The trolley is provided with several pairs of tubular members 7 with flared out ends. The implement 8 to be driven has one or more pairs of projecting pins 9 which enter the tubes and are secured therein by detents 10, 11. The engine may be detachably mounted on the trolley and may be connected to the reduction gear by a similar pin and tube connection.
