PICT:0757659/III/1 An applicator for painting poles, pipes or similar round surfaces comprises a roller 4, rotatably mounted, e.g. on ball or roller bearings, on a supporting bracket 2 provided with a handle 1, the outer surface of the roller being curved to conform substantially to the surface to be painted; preferably, its surface is concave and semi-circular in longitudinal section. The roller 4, which may be of wood, synthetic resinous material or other suitable material has sheepskin or a wool fleece 9 attached to it by adhesive.
