In a servomotor-control mechanism for variable-pitch propellers, the propeller transmission shaft P is enlarged at 6 to accommodate the fluid passages 12, 16 and 13, 17 leading to either side of the servopiston 1 and an eccentric follow-up control rod 10 connecting the piston to a sleeve 9 on the shaft, and the control valve 4 on a slip ring 5 is carried on the enlargement. Movement of a lever 7 shifts the valve to place one side of the piston under pressure and the other to exhaust. Movement of the piston recenters the valve through a connection 9 between the sleeve 9SP1/SP and the lever 7. The servo-control mechanism is enclosed in an oiltight casing 19 providing the shaft bearings 18, 20.
