[Also in Group XXIV] A device for checking the rebound of a pivoted contact-carrying lever 1 from a back stop 4, comprises a cam 5 pivoted on a pin 9 and urged against a stud 7 on the lever by a spring 8. On pivoting of the lever, the cam is driven in an anti-clockwise direction by the stud 7 thus stressing the spring 8, the stud disengaging from the cam during the final portion of the stroke. The face c, d of the cam lies close to a check member 6 on the lever when the latter hits the stop 4, and the cam 5 and member 6 engage after a very short rebound of the lever, thus checking further rebound, whereupon the spring 8 returns the cam 5 against stud 7.
