Improvements relating to clearer and worker rollers of carding machines

Class 120(1) Clearer rollers of a roller carding machine are fitted at each end with a metal band ¥ inch wide; card fillet is wound between the bands, and after grinding stands higher than the bands by about 1/32 inch. The workers are card-clothed in the usual manner; the card teeth at each end of the roller are then clipped off close to the foundation over a width of inch, and the clipped ends are covered by leather or metal strips. Fibre migrating on to the metal bands on a clearer is transferred immediately to the swift which carries it past the clipped ends of the workers straight to the fancy. Migration of fibre on to the roller shafts and frame sides is thus avoided.
