830,598. Hull structure. ALBIACH, V. June 26, 1958 [June 29, 1957], No. 20578/58. Class 113. A hull has two longitudinal bulkheads 1, 2 disposed one on each side of the vertical axial plane of the ship to form an empty space or cofferdam 3 reserved for ballast and forming an insulating space between side cargo tanks. The axial cofferdam may be combined with a double deck 4, Fig. 3, or a double bottom 5, Fig. 4, extending across all or part of the width of the ship, and the double bottom may be combined with double sides 6, Fig. 5. The deck and bottom and the bulkheads 1, 2 may be connected by a stiffening structure in the cofferdam 3.
