Shuttering for casting walls, especially tapered walls of circular towers, comprises shuttering panels 34, Fig. 2, adapted to be raised on guides 18, Figs. 2 and 6 supported on bolts 20 in the already cast wall and having adjustable spacing means 28 between their upper ends. The panels run on rollers 36 in the l section guides 18 and are raised by a winch 38 or a jack on a rod set in the concrete. The spacing means may be a turnbuckle or screwed rods and nuts, Fig. 3 (not shown). The guides 18 carry members 64 carrying scaffold boards connected by vertical and hotizontal members 63, 66 respectively and the angle of which is adjusted by adjusting struts 68. The panels 34a, 34b, Fig. 8, are tapered and alternate panels are inverted the overlap of the edges of the panels being varied according to the length of wall to be cast.
