In an air conditioning system in which conditioned air is fed as primary air to a number of room induction units, each unit has two heat exchangers, one in the primary air path and the other in the secondary air path, and the surface temperature of the heat exchangers is maintained between the temperatures of the primary and secondary air. The illustrated induction unit comprises a primary air supply duct 1 feeding air to a heat exchanger 5 and a by-pass 6, the proportions of air flowing through each being variable by means of a rotatable disc 8 having an opening 9. Primary air, after passing through the heat exchanger and/or by-pass is ejected through nozzles 11 thus inducing a flow of secondary room air through a heat exchanger 10 connected in series with the heat exchanger 5. The disc 8 is controlled by a manual control 18 through a Bowden cable 19. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a fluid containing bellows responsive to room temperature acts through a lever to open or close an aperture in a bleed line from the duct 1 connected to a diaphragm mechanism connected to the disc 8.
