Method for forming a package of undrawn copolyamide yarn having an improved unwinding ability

A copolyamide filament is coated with a finishing agent consisting essentially of an aqueous emulsion of partially oxidized polyethylene, the coating being applied after melt spinning the filament and before it is taken up on a winding bobbin. The finishing agent may also be applied to a composite filament wherein one component is a oopolyamide and the other is another polyamide. A conventional oiling agent may be mixed into the emulsion of the finishing agent, or may be applied separately. The treatment improves the unwinding ability of a package of copolyamide yarn.
