Scaffolding frames, e.g. 2 have one or more cross members 3 and two parallel spigots of non-circular cross section adapted to engage similar sockets 7 in the ends of the side members of other frames in which they are clamped by set screws 8. The frames are made of tubes of square cross section with spigots of square cross section at the upper ends of the side members, the lower ends providing sockets with clamping screws. Another embodiment of a frame, Fig. 6 (not shown) has the spigots and sockets offset. A base frame may be provided in the side members of which are clamped base plates 9 and castors 23 (Fig. 2, not shown). Hand rails are also described.
