[Also in Division B8] Crop coming from a threshing drum 10 is distributed and loosened by a device comprising prongs 18 which are mounted for rotation about an axle which are oscillated laterally of the direction of crop movement (i.e. in planes parallel to the axle) and which are rotated about the axle in the direction of crop movement by a rotating drum 20. In the Figs. 2 and 3 embodiment, lateral oscillation of the prongs 18 is produced by an eccentric mechanism 40, 38 causing reciprocation of a non-rotating axle 34 to which the prongs 18 are universally jointed (e.g. at 42). Rotation of the drum 20 about the non-rotating axle 34 causes rotation of the prongs about the axle 34 and varying projection of the prongs from the drum. In the Fig. 4 embodiment, lateral oscillation of the prongs 18 is effected by swash-plates 49 which are rotatably mounted on an eccentric driven shaft 48 by known means causing rocking of the plates 49, the prongs 18 being universally jointed at 52 to the swash-plates 49. The axle 48 and drum 20 can be driven independently. In a modification, baffle plates extend over the width of the drum in the region of the bores 44 and are inclined rearwardly. Double spring prongs are connected to the baffle plates and are curved rearwardly.
