In an appts. for the recording of polar diagrams exhibiting textures of crystalline samples, in which a relative pole distance motion to a recording pen of a recorder is super-imposed, on an azimuthal rotation of a recording substrate round a central axis, with an instrument indicating the intensity of scattered X-rays and a compensating device the adjusting member of which is moved by means of an inching motor in such a way that the potential is compensated proportionally to the intensity of the scattered X-rays and by which the recording pen is regulated as a function of intensity, (a) the recording equipment comprises a colour pen turret, the axis of rotation of which is fixed spatially and the intensity-dependent adjustment of which results from a shaft driven from the inching motor, (b) the pole distance motion results through motion of the recording substrate by means of a pivoting carriage receiving the azimuthal axis of rotation of the recording substrate, synchronised with the pole distance motion of the cam segments rotating the sample. Simplified construction is obtd. with elimination of mechanical loading of the adjusting equipment.
