[Also in Division A5] Apparatus for cleaning, sterilizing, and sterilized storing of surgical and dental instruments and other articles comprises a basin 1 having means for generating ultrasonic vibrations in a cleansing liquid therein, and in which the articles are washed, a basin 6 through which a flow of water is passed for rinsing the articles, a chamber 15 provided with means, such as an electrically heated quartz tube 16, for sterilizing the articles after they have been dried, as by an electric heater 13, and a chamber 19 in which the sterilized articles are stored and maintained sterilized as by a germicidal ultraviolet ray lamp 20. Separate timing devices control the generation of ultrasonic vibrations, energization of the heater 13, and energization of the heater 16, respectively. A stirrer 10 mounted adjacent the basin 10 may be pivoted downwardly and operated to agitate washing liquid in the basin 6 for washing the articles when washing in the basin 1 is not required.
