We claim: A process for the synthesis of plasticizers (VI) from castor oil (I) for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) by ester-ifying ricinoyl derivatives (III) obtained by reacting castor oil (I) with monohydric aliphatic alcohole (II) characterized in that the etherification of the ricinoyl derivers (III) is carried out by reacting them with a dibasic acid/anhydride (IV) such as patholio acid/anhydride, maloio acid/anhydride and the mono-basic esters(V) thus obtained are further reacted with the monohydric aliphatic alcohols (II) or the said ricinoyl derivatiyes (III) to yield the plasticizer (IV)
