The die holder 2 is shaped with a substantially cylindrical or tapered bore, section 7 and a conical section 6. The die 3 is cleaned outside the press axis, loaded into the holder 2 and the disc and ring assembly positioned against the die. The elasticity of the ring holds the disc in the holder. The disc may be apertured to correspond to complex die apertures. The disc may be made of agglomerated glass powder and the ring made of rubber. The die aperture is L-shaped in the embodiment. It is stated that it is known to hold discs in die holders magnetically.
