An anchor bolt assembly for securing an article 29 to a structure 30 comprises a bolt 20 on which is mounted a non-metallic permanently deformable sleeve 24, the sleeve 24 being so compressed axially of the bolt 20 when the bolt is located in coaxial bores in the article 29 and structure 30 that it radially distorts to grip firmly the wall of the bore in the structure thereby to secure the bolt to the structure 30. The sleeve 24 is compressed between a peripheral shoulder on the bolt head 22 and a metal sleeve 25 which surrounds the bolt shank and which may form part of or be separate from a nut 26a threaded on the bolt 20. More than one deformable sleeve 24 may be provided and the or each sleeve 24 may be of polyvinylchloride or like plastics material. The nut, in the case where it is integral with the metal sleeve, may be provided with a slotted, conical or hemispherical end (Figs. 8 to 11, not shown) and a loose sleeve (50) may be additionally provided between the nut and the deformable sleeve.
