In an injection-blow-moulding machine, gas for expanding the parison is admitted thereto through the core on which the parison is injection moulded by means of a poppet valve the stem of which is axially movable and has means therein for the circulation of a temperature controlling fluid. The valve stem is preferably hollow and contains a pipe for the admission of the fluid, the pipe having a clearance around it for the return of the fluid. The pipe is preferably so placed that the fluid impinges directly on the underside of the valve head, which may also comprise substantially the whole of the free end of the core. The outer core member may also have means for the circulation of temperature-control fluid.
