Crosslinked cable insulation - based on pvc a polar ethylene copolymer sulphochlorinated polyethylene and peroxide

Crosslinkable insulating mixture for electrical insulated conductors and cables consists of 100 pts wt. PVC or a copolymer consisting mainly of vinyl chloride, 25-150 pts. wt polar ethylene copolymer 5-33 pts. wt sulphochlorinated polyethylene and a peroxide. The insulating material has a high elastic modulus in the temp. range 100-200 degrees C, and does not soften or deform when heated to a high temp. as a result of a short circuit current, unlike PVC itself. The material also has good electrical properties, flexibility, cold resistance, durability and self extinguishing properties.
