Spot or projection welder - with minimum current path between transformers and workpieces

In a spot or projection welding machine incorporating one or several parallel connected welding transformers, the leads between the transformers and the weld workpiece are kept as short as possible and are symmetrically connected to it. A sliding contact is employed for transmitting the current to the upper vertically displacable arm of the machine. The design reduces resistance and inductive current losses to a minimum and thus improves operational efficiency of the plant.
